This school is a nonprofit corporation and is authorized by the State of Oregon to offer and confer the academic degrees and certificates described herein, following a determination that state academic standards will be satisfied under OAR 583-030. Inquiries concerning the standards or school compliance may be directed to the Office of Degree Authorization, 775 Court St NE, Salem, Oregon 97301.

The foregoing authorization signifies that a degree or certificate from the Ananda College of Living Wisdom holds the same legal significance as a degree or certificate from any other college or university that has met the same standards. Where a bachelor’s degree is a precondition for employment, the B.A. from ACLW will satisfy this requirement.

The primary reason for obtaining accreditation is to facilitate the transfer of credits from one college to another. Although acceptance of credits is always at the discretion of the students’ new school, accreditation status makes it much more likely that units will be accepted.

We have initiated the process of accreditation with the Northwest Commission of Colleges and Schools (NWCCU). It is a lengthy process commonly requiring 4-6 years to complete. During this period, credits earned at ACLW are not automatically transferable to other institutions. Our staff can help students find schools that will accept our credits. We have been assured that once accreditation status is obtained, units earned by students prior to this acceptance will be honored as accredited.
